HomeWorks
Interactive Project Checklists
Homeowner
training checklist
This checklist is intended to
provide reminders for training homeowners. A homeowners
enjoyment of the system is directly related to their
understanding of how the system operates.
- Cycle Dim
Teach the homeowner how to properly use a button that
has cycle-dim capability. Do not assume that a customer
wants cycle-dim, ask them.
- Vareo and GRAFIK Eye fail-safe
operation
Show the homeowner that Vareos and GRAFIK Eyes still
function if the HomeWorks Interactive system is
inoperative.
- Vareo air gap
Show the homeowner the operation of the air gap
switch on the Vareo.
- Manual override
Demonstrate the operation of manual override and when
to use it.
- Vacation Mode
Explain how to switch between record and playback,
and when they should do so.
- Master Raise/Lower buttons
Explain how the master raise/lower buttons will raise/lower
the lights effected by the last button press on the
keypad.
- IR Remotes
Demonstrate the operation of the Lutron IR remotes.
- Control Station Engraving
Ask the homeowner to live with the system for a few
weeks before settling on what should be engraved on the
control stations. This will avoid extra charges for
additional faceplates due to engraving changes. We
suggest using the engraving report printouts as temporary
labeling, and allowing the homeowner to mark-up the
printouts as they learn to use the system.
- Modem access to the system
If you have a modem on site to allow for remote access,
discuss a procedure for system updates, since the system
will be inoperative while being updated. If the modem
will need to be plugged in or connected to the phone line
manually by the homeowner, show them exactly what they
need to do to enable the modem.
